Passports/Visa information
Visa’s are not required for stays of 30 days or less (within a 6 month period) if you are a British or Irish passport holder. Please ensure that your passport has 6 months validity from the date of return.
EU nationals do not require a visa for a stay of up to 90 days in a 6 month period (excluding Estonia, Ireland and UK who may stay for 30 days)
Any other nationalities not please check Visa information before travelling.
Helpful hints:
When travelling to Bulgaria please be aware that it is advisable to make sure you have cash on you at all times, as you may find it difficult to pay for things by credit card, as a lot of shops and restaurants do not have the facility to accept them. This includes the airport duty free section!
Make sure that you are not over charged for your taxi at the airport, it is best to find out before you agree a fare roughly what you should be paying. Always agree the fare before entering the taxi.
Out of season you may struggle slightly with a language barrier in some areas of Bulgaria, therefore a phrase book maybe helpful.
